Mixing Walnut Ink

Dissolve ink crystals in a water according to desired strength. Many people suggest distilled water - however, I usually use just regular tap water.

Storing Ink

Store in a glass jar with a lid.  If you happen to leave the lid off you can reconstitute the crystals by mixing in water.  If you won't be using it for a few days store it the the fridge.

I also like to use a small glass bottle with a dropper for my working bottle.   That way I can drip it onto the surface.

Usage Tips

Walnut ink is water soluble.  Therefore, the finished product should be sprayed with a fixative or a sealer.

The type of paper is important.  One technique will work on one paper and not on others.  So play around with the papers until you get the look you want.
